ENROLL NOWEach module includes an extensive video/audio training and a homework assignment, in addition to a Q+A session and the option for further discussion in our student community.
For the modules that address the practical skills of coaching, our students will have the option of participating in our Coaching Skills Lab, where they will both observe and be observed in terms of the art of coaching and navigating client interactions.
Module 01: Pulling Back the Curtain on the Dark Side of Coaching
We kick things off with an overview of the broken state of healthcare before looking more closely at the trends and opportunities in the coaching industry. We then do a deeper dive into the concerns around lack of industry regulation for coaches and why we need more highly qualified coaches to step up and raise the bar. We wrap this lesson up with a closer look at coaching certification programs and what we need to consider as health professionals navigating the coaching world.
Module 02: Coaching Isn’t Therapy and Consulting Isn’t Coaching
This module will help you to develop a better understanding of the role of the coach and how it's distinct from the role of clinician, consultant, educator and mentor. We'll also review what coaching is NOT and how to navigate the different hats one can wear as a multi-talented therapist with a variety of skillsets.
Module 03: Legal and Ethical Issues for Licensed Practitioners
We start this module off with a lesson on the different ways licensed practitioners can use coaching within their practice. We then do a deeper dive into the ways therapists are redefining themselves as coaches in the online space, including marketing do's and don'ts. You'll learn more about practice acts, clinical recommendations and other ethical issues that will present themselves in the coaching world, as well as the importance of a coaching agreement (including how to use it and what it should include).
Module 04: Setting Yourself up as a Standout Coach
One of the best ways to stand out as a coach is to deliver amazing results for your clients! And to do this, it's important to have a clearly defined niche and coaching process. In this module, we'll also review red flags for coaching and we'll wrap things up with a lesson on building out our referral network.
Module 05: Programs, Packages + Pricing
Now that you have a clearly defined niche, we'll go further into the different ways you can deliver your services to help your clients achieve results! You'll leave this module with a developed outline for your program, in addition to a pricing structure that you can stand behind with confidence.
Module 06: Establishing the Coaching Relationship
In this module, we'll learn how to identify the "right-fit" coaching clients and how to set up your discovery call process to weed out the tire-kickers. Learn how to explain the coaching process and set the stage for therapeutic relationship with clear boundaries. We'll finish this module off with a lesson on creating your coaching container, establishing trust and empowering your client to communicate their needs.
Module 07: Eliciting the Vision and Setting Client-Centered Goals
In order to set client-centered goals, we first need to elicit the client’s vision, bring attention to their resources and mindfully listen to their story, which we will cover in this module. We will also review the importance of prioritizing and pacing your client’s goal attainment before we wrap things up with a focus keeping our clients accountable.
Module 08: Helping Your Clients to Overcome Challenges and Roadblocks
In any coaching relationship, your client is going to hit some bumps in the road -- and it’s important that you have some tools at your disposal to support them. This module addresses common internal and external barriers to change, in addition to tools and support strategies for holding clients accountable in leaning in and doing the work. Last but not least, we’ll discuss the importance of celebration and how to introduce this into your coaching sessions!
Module 09: Coaching Skill Mastery and Practical Applications
This module is delivered in a live, interactive format. Learning coaching concepts will only get you so far... This module is all about taking what we've learned and implementing! We'll review the progression of a coaching call and we'll also have the opportunity to practice. We'll wrap things up by reviewing the different ways we can document our ongoing progress and evolution as a client-centered coach.
Module 10: Performance, Time Management + Productivity
Being in control of your own schedule can be liberating but only if you're pro-active and assertive with managing your time! In this module, we review important concepts such as block scheduling, priority management and productivity as a mindset. We also review documentation tools and session tracking notes to help you build a more organized backend of your coaching practice. The theme of this module is to work smarter, not harder!
Module 11: Maintenance Plans and Long-Term Client Retention
How do you know when your client has graduated from coaching? What are the next steps? What are signs of codependency? How do you provide some semblance of follow-up when your client is no longer paying for your services? In this module, we cover all this and more, as we take a closer look at maintenance plans, offboarding and options for long-term client retention.
Module 12: Showing Up in Your Field as a Thought Leader
In our final module, we'll be discussing the importance of personal and professional development as a coach, in addition to the concept of self-coaching and therapeutic use of self. We'll also be exploring ways you can (and should!) be putting yourself out there as a thought leader, with a focus on guest blog writing, guest podcasting and keynote speaking.
